He is survived by a sister, Mary Shreve and husband Eugene; three step-children, Patricia A. (Beckman) Helbig, Sandra K. (Beckman) DeWitt and Richard W. Beckman, Jr.; grandchildren, Rebecca Helbig and husband Kevin Nolan, Valerie Helbig, Frederick Helbig, Jr. and wife Melody, Eric DeWitt and wife Melody, Aaron DeWitt and wife Samantha, Tanya Layton and husband Rick, Tara DeWitt, Richard W. Beckman, III and wife Teresa, and Heather Frantz and husband Donnie; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Edna (Shrout) Beckman Lohr, in 2002; an infant sister, Dorothy Lohr; sister, M. Lucille Shannon; and five brothers, Daniel E., Luther D., Roger W., Lewis C., and James H. Lohr.
