Walter is survived by two daughters, Carole Jean Forman and husband Thomas of Folkston, GA and Katherine L. Schenk of McHenry; a granddaughter, Jennifer F. Wright and husband Howard of Summerville, SC; and his true companion and buddy, Pug. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. (Martin) Campbell on August 3, 1999; his son in law, Douglas L. Schenk on August 30, 1999; one sister, Ellen Marie McRobie; his aunt, Nora (Barb) Wickelgren; and his uncle, Roy Barb.
