Kate, I was very saddened to hear of Wally's passing. He meant so much to me both as a neighbor and a great mentor. He and your mother meant so much to my sister and I growing up, as they were our "adopted grandparents" when our actual grandparents were states away. I will always keep his memory in my heart. Kate, I was very sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I'm sure you and pug will miss him very much. Walter once told me how much he valued all you did for him. Although the loss will leave an empty spot, I like to think he's in a better place and all his pain is gone.

May the God of peace surround you with His love. I was very blessed to meet Walter at Garrett Memorial Hospital a few years back. He was a very special man. I am sorry that I lost contact with him while he was in the Nursing Home. God places people in our lives for a season and I thank Him for allowing me to meet Walter.

Kate, Carole Jean and family, Please accept my condolences. As a kid I fondly remember the trips we took to see Walt, your mother and the cousins. Walt taught me, among other things, was to not be afraid of the cows he talked to from his backyard! My first long trip as a new driver was with my Grandma Campbell to Maryland to see Walt and Ruth. He will be missed.
