Obituary of Herman Luther Sweitzer

Herman “Lute” Luther Sweitzer, 71, of Swanton, MD died on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home. Born in Swanton on December 5, 1940, he was the son of Glenna M. (Harvey) Sweitzer of Swanton and the late Robert W. Sweitzer. He worked as a mechanic and truck driver for A&P Grocery, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and helped a lot of people in earlier days. Lute was a good friend to many people. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Robert D. Sweitzer, Steven R. Sweitzer and wife Debbie, and Rodney A. Sweitzer and wife Barbie; two sisters, June Sweitzer and Wanda Ward and husband Chuck, all of Swanton; eight nieces and nephews; and thirteen great nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister in law, Alverta Sweitzer. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 26th from 6 to 8 PM at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland where a funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, May 27th with Carl Lee officiating. Interment will follow in George Cemetery, Swanton.
