Obituary of Leroy James Dawson

Leroy James Dawson, 86, of Bayard, WV, formerly of Elk Garden, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Oakland Nursing & Rehab Center. He was born on May 2, 1927 in Nethken, WV, he was the son of the late Herbert and Lillie (Oates) Dawson. He was a member of the Elk Garden United Methodist Church and former member of Elk Garden Fire Dept. Leroy retired from Allegany Wood Products. He is survived by two grandchildren, Deanna Rublee and husband Daniel of Oak Grove, KY; Thomas Dawson of Romney, WV; four great grandchildren, Haley, Brady, Delaney and Landry Rublee; a sister, Nora Knotts of Kitzmiller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella (Kitzmiller) Dawson in 1987, an infant daughter, two sons, Timothy and Frederick Dawson, two sister, Elizabeth and Hetti, and three brothers, Howard, Henry and Carl. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. 21 N. 2nd St. Oakland on Tuesday, July 30th from 10 to 11 A.M. at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Matthew A.
