So sorry to see this. We met Mason in the late 1990's, through the INDY Project. He was such a great guy. We have thought of him often, over the years, wondering whatever happened to him, after his partner Bob passed away... My condolences to his family.

My deepest condolences to Mason's family and friends. He was a great neighbor that always greeted you with a hello, a smile or a wave. He was more than happy to lend a hand if you needed him to and would talk about his WV Mountaineers for as long as you'd let him. The 1600 block of Virginia Avenue definitely won't be the same without him.

Mason was one of my students at Southern High School. He was so intelligent, creative, and kind. For many years, he and his cousin, Marie Stemple, would come to see me during the Christmas holidays after they graduated from high school.
I have many fond memories of Mason, and I sincerely send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I was so saddened to hear about Mason's passing. He was the sweetest guy and incredibly bright! We recently spoke and he was so happy and excited about his new job and future plans. I recently lost my husband and Mason understood what I was going through and he knew just how to comfort me. He was and is an angel. I will remember him always.

We're so sad to hear of Mason's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Mason & I (Brian) became friends when Mason designed the private terminal and the cafe in the main terminal at Yeager Airport(both are an amazing design and talented piece's of work) and later he joined our staff there. Mason was kind, intelligent, caring and an all around great person. We shared many lunches together talking about work, sports, and many other subjects. Mason would sometimes come visit with Leigh Ann & I at our house in Charleston to watch the Mountaineers play on TV and engage in lively and fun conversations. Mason was passionate about his work, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and about life. We both left Yeager around the same time, and Leigh Ann & I moved to Alabama, while Mason stayed in Charleston. We stayed in touch and had last text each other back in March when WV was playing in the NCAA Tournament. I didn't know it would be our conversation. Our hearts are broken to know Mason is gone. I'm a better person to have known Mason and we're so glad he came into our life's. We're both proud to call Mason our friend.
R.I.P Mr. Proudfoot. God Bless you, and may we all meet again someday. Go Mountaineers!!!

Mason was funny and kindhearted. He was an important person back in my high school days. Everybody loved him -- his parties and get-togethers were famous, as was his humor. This all feels very out of sync and wrong. I'm so sad and sorry that he has gone already.

Mason was a very gifted and talented individual, but more than that he was a kind and gentle spirit that loved his family, friends, and his interests. We became friends through our mutual love of West Virginia University athletics, but our friendship grew because of the quality of person that Mason was. We had just shared a lunch a few weeks ago and we talked about many subjects over the course of our time together. I never thought as I said good bye to my friend that it would be for the last time. I have been blessed for Mason to be a part of my life and I will forever hold memories of him dear to my heart.

As a classmate and friend of Masons, I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a hoot in school, always keeping us laughing. The obituary has been added to our classes Facebook page as will the notice of a memorial service. May faith guide his family through this difficult time. My thoughts are with you.

My heart is broken. Mason, Lisa Thayer and I spent many hours laying on his bedroom floor starring at the ceiling (black light on all posters lol) talking all night long about our life dreams and our teenage issue. All the while listening to ELO and Queen. Although we haven't seen one another in many years, Mason was a very important part of my teenage life I love you Mason Proudfoot. Fly high my old friend. . " can't get you out of my head, "
Love you,
Brenda
