Paul is survived by his bride of 69 years, Bertie (Evans) Sharpless; a daughter, Nancy Sharpless Livengood; two granddaughters, Lisa Kerr and husband Jay and Laura Johnson and husband Rob; five great grandchildren, Josh Kerr and wife Tabi, Aaron Kerr, Mindi Kerr, Jaylen Johnson and Julian Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank, Lyle, Fred, Austin and Elroy Sharpless (the latter two passing as small children), and a sister, Hazel Sharpless McCrobie.

Friends will be received Saturday from 4 to 7 PM at C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church Street, Kitzmiller, MD. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Sunday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 2445 Mt. Zion Road, Swanton, MD with Pastor Gary N. Rankin officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Swanton with full military honors
