Pappy (Gene) you were the most wonderful man that I ever had the pleasure of knowing. There are no words to express how much you meant to me or how much I will miss you. I will miss many things about Gene, but most of all, I will miss his laugh. His giggle was something that lightened everyone's heart. If you could spend time with Gene and not smile, then you are a rare person. His friends, and I am proud to be one of them, were blessed by knowing him. Rest in Peace, Ol Buddy!

So sorry for your loss. Gene lived at my house, rented a room, after his divorce many years ago. He was a pleasant fellow and I also saw him as he worked at the Oakland American Legion. I know he called his "girls" from my house, many times
