Obituary of John Filsinger

John Edward Filsinger, Sr., 84, Oakland, MD, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at his residence. Born March 27, 1926 in Deer Park, MD, he was the son of the late Philip C. and Mary Josepha (Rogue) Filsinger. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Filsinger, Mary Reardon and Ruth I. Filsinger; brother, Charles “Mick” Filsinger; granddaughter, Jeannie M. Filsinger, son-in-law, Paul J. Frantz and one great-grandson John was a farmer and retired from Garrett County Roads Department as Master Mechanic in 1982. Surviving are: wife, Alice L. Filsinger; sons, John “Ed” Filsinger, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Oakland, MD, David W. Filsinger and wife, Denise, Mattapohsett, MA; daughters, Deborah L. Wine and husband Jerry, Oakland, Terry L. Savage and husband Mike, McHenry, MD, Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Heger and husband Dan, Carroll County, MD; sisters, Frances Goetten, Naples, FL, Barbara Pritts and Patricia Filsinger, Oakland; brothers, Robert Filsinger, Deer Park, Phillip Filsinger and wife Kate of Oakland; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
