She is survived by two daughters, Paula M. Shortridge of Oakland and Pamela K. Georg of Grantsville; three grandchildren, Melissa K. Morgan of Oakland, Brittany N. Georg and Justin R. Georg both of Grantsville; one great grandchild, Avery M. Morgan of Oakland; two brothers, Wade and Oliver Shaffer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul Joseph Merrill in 1999; a sister, Eva Hendershot; and a brother, Daryl Shaffer.
