He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Parks) Simmons; children, Jacqueline Stickel of Oakland, Kevin Simmons and wife Tina of Sterling, VA, Kirk Simmons and wife Kim of Adel, IA; grandchildren, Aleksander, Jacob, Maryam, William and Brenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Keith Simmons.
