He is survived by two sons, Ronald Wayne Reckner of Friendsville and Randall Eugene “Jake” Reckner and wife Brenda of Oakland; and two grandsons, Ronald Wayne Reckner, II and fiancée Hannah Fike and Jeremiah Ray Reckner, all of Friendsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rose (Wright) Reckner, in 2008; a son, Richard H. Reckner, Jr., in 1985; two brothers, Robert “June” Reckner and Harold Reckner; and two sisters, Olive Groves and Eloise Wensel.
