I will miss my dear friend more than words can express. Mabel was a true American treasure. She lived her life with grace, determination, and a belief in the goodness of all people. She was rewarded with a lifetime of love from her family and friends. I feel so priviledged to have shared even a brief moment in time with her. She gave so much to others every day and never expected anything in return. She made me laugh every time I saw her, and she was always so thoughtful when sharing her wisdom and advice with me. Her interest in life and the world around her often astounded me.......and her math skills far exceeded mine! Above all, Mabel was incredibly kind. She readily shared her life with so many people who needed a person just like her to brighten their day. When I looked through her photo albums I noticed that Mabel always had her hand touching the person sitting next to her and that her eyes reflected the love she felt for everyone in the room. I will fondly remember Mabel in her garden, sharing a cup of tea with her on a cold day, painting garden rocks at the senior center, and the way she made me feel every time I spent an afternoon with her. Mabel filled a piece of my heart that had been empty for a long time and I will never ever forget what she filled it with.........love.
