He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Arlene (Smith) Gaither of Bayard; daughters, Tammy Lynn Eggleston and husband Daniel and Beth Ann Friend and husband Chad, all of Oakland; grandchildren, Brady Kitzmiller, Savanna Kitzmiller, Ashley Eggleston, Emily Eggleston and Ava Ann Friend, all of Oakland; sisters, Nina Sisson of Bayard, Ruth Ann Cooper of Oakland and Frances Bosley of Gormania, WV; and a number of nieces, nephews and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Robert, Edwin “Dude” and Harry Gaither; and sister, Lucy Pase.
