He is survived by four children, John Friend and wife Susan of Oakland, Jody Friend of Oakland, Jeff Friend of Accident and Sarah Durst and husband Jim of Ormond Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Timothy Durst, Carly Friend and Eli Friend; a brother, Joe Friend of Oakland; and dear friends, Robert and Judy Beckman of Terra Alta, WV and Kenny Sanders of Oakland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Jack and a sister, Jenny.
