He is survived by his loving wife, Rosealice (Paugh) Shaffer; a son, O. Barry Shaffer of Oakland; a brother, Wade Cornelius Shaffer of Maugansville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Marie Hendershot and Catherine Elizabeth Merrill and a brother, Daryl Le Mark Shaffer.
