In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Karen L. (Nelson) Clapper of Oakland; his children, Ashleigh B. Clapper of McHenry, Kaitlynn N. Clapper of Oakland and Michael S.W. Clapper of Oakland; a brother, Phillip Clapper of Chesterfield, VA; and a special nephew, Gregory Clapper. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael William Clapper.
