In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lore (Eberts) Hanlin in 1982, his second wife, Margaret (Stewart) Hanlin in 2011, three sisters, Mary Burgess, Blanche Evans and Katherine Phillips, three brothers, Lawrence, Harrison and James Hanlin.
