Obituary of Larry Loman Canan

Larry Loman Canan, 69, of Oakland died on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home. Born on November 27, 1945 in Kempton, he was the son of the late Harry Wilbert and Bessie J. (Hebb) Canan. He had worked as a machinist for local businesses in both the Oakland and Thomas, WV areas and later made his life in farming which provided him with great pleasure. He is survived by his son, John Canan and partner Pamela Dubitsky of Brunswick, MD; a fiancée, Mabel Argenbright of Oakland; two brothers, Glenn Canan and wife Pauline of Owasso, OK and Milton Canan and wife Dawn of Accident; Mabel’s two children, Kurt and Michelle Messersmith; and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 10 to 11 AM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Dave Terlizzi and Rev. Robert Hebb officiating. Interment will follow in the Knotts Family Cemetery in Tucker County, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cindy’s Fund, PO Box 182, Oakland, MD 21550.
