Obituary of Adeline Louise Lowdermilk

Adeline Louise (Barello) Lowdermilk, 89, of Oakland, died on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation in Wexford, PA.  Born on March 25, 1928, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Alphonso and Grashia (Collins) Barello.  In her younger years, she had worked at Coffee’s restaurant and, later, helped care for the homes of several Garrett county families.  Adeline had attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.  Adeline is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Lowdermilk) Skillman of Oakland; grandsons, Charles I. Skillman and wife Carolyn of Zelienople, PA and Matthew W. Skillman of Oakland; great grandsons, Cole and Jackson Skillman; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Adeline was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lowdermilk; her siblings, Marguerite (Barello) King, Beatrice (Barello) DeWitt, Alphonso Barello, Jr. and Mary Jane (Bolyard) Croston; and a son-in-law, David M. Skillman.  A funeral service was held in the chapel of Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland, at with Rev. Dr. Chip Lee officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth Enlow Library, 6 N 2nd St., Oakland, MD 21550.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Oakland.
