Obituary of Ronald Edward Roy

Ronald Edward Roy, 84, of Oakland died on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born on May 13, 1933 in Crellin, he was the son of the late Elwood Thomas and Mildred Grace (Skipper) Roy.  He was a graduate of Oakland High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War.  Mr. Roy worked for Glotfelty Enterprises as a tire recapper.  He attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Corinth.  In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding the birds and loved to read westerns.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Flossie Irene (Felton) Roy; two children, Beulah Elliott and husband Darn and Tom Roy and wife Kathy; a granddaughter, Amy Welch and husband Mikey; two great granddaughters, Kirsten Welch and Brittany Welch; and a brother, Bill Roy and wife Carolyn.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Murphy and a brother, Gaylon Roy.  According to his wishes, Mr. Roy was cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.  The C & S FREDLOCK FUNERAL HOME, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family with arrangements and condolences may be left for the family at www.csfredlockfh.com.
