He is survived by four daughters, Margaret Day of Grantsville, Jane Stewart of Elk Garden, Rita Braithwaite and husband Bill of Elk Garden, and Tammy Gillaspie and husband Dave of Elk Garden; eight grandchildren, Crystal Hall and husband Brad of Chesterfield, MO, Brandon Day and wife Jodi of Ridgley, WV, Marshall and Louie Stewart, Samatha Jackson, Kenny Braithwaite, David and Brandi Gillaspie, all of Elk Garden; five great-grandchildren, Lacy Bowman, Matthew and Jordan Stewart, Sophie Hall and Hadley Day; one great great grandson, Brantly Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette (Droppleman) Hottle, in 2015 and all of his siblings.
