He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gail L. (Taylor) Armstrong; children, Jimmy Armstrong, Sandy Browning, Richard Armstrong, Becky Williams, Lisa Stewart, Kimberly Kemphfer, Debra Armstrong and Davey Armstrong; ten stepchildren; thirty-nine grandchildren including Melanie, Ashley and Amber Paugh; thirty-three great grandchildren; brothers, Harold Armstrong, Bob Armstrong, Henry Armstrong and Tom Armstrong; sisters, Louise Hardesty, Darlene Armstrong, Mary Harper and Jane Walsh; and a number of nieces and nephews. He had many friends and a special friendship with Mickey Kempher, Dottie and Donnie Moreland, Roger Welch, Tom and Jean Braithwaite, Tom and Debbie Gank, Toni Stonestreet, Don Damron, Clarence Armstrong and many more. He also had a special place in his heart for his nephew, Bob, of Sumter, SC.
